Manuel Gallegos was born October 11, 1937, in Wichita, KS. He resided in Kansas, California, and Oregon.
He began his career in the Medical Corps of the Navy. After his military career, he pursued a degree in teaching at Wichita State University and was a high school Spanish teacher at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in Wichita, KS. He later changed his career to banking where he earned a bachelor's degree in Finance. He was the Vice President of the credit card division at Bank of America in Stockton, CA. After experiencing a stroke, he briefly resided in Kansas and subsequently moved to Oregon. He is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his sisters Anita Best, wife of William Best, Barbara Gallegos, and Virginia Childres, wife of Lee Childres. His nephews and nieces are Lisa Best-Stiles, William Best, Brandon Childres, and Justin Childres. His great nephews and great nieces are Courtney Stiles, Brooke Best, Kaley Best, and Cody Best.
