Margaret Ann "Peggy" Norman, 85, a resident of Forest Grove, Oregon, was called to be with our Lord and Savior on April 14, 2014. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Peggy was born on April 28, 1928 in Nyssa, Oregon to Roy and Hazel (Beam) Pounds. She spent her childhood helping in her parent's store, and enjoying many friendships that lasted her lifetime. Peggy was a graduate of Nyssa High School. She married Dell Norman on Feb. 14, 1949 in Baker City, OR. Together they raised eight children and traveled all over the US, from Oregon to Washington, to Guam and Massachusetts, to Wyoming, Utah, Texas and back to Oregon. They later divorced.
While living in Duchesne, Utah, she was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce for her volunteer work and support of the high school's sports teams. She loved attending her children's sporting events and was their biggest fan. In recent years she hosted an annual Super Bowl gathering for her family.
In addition to her years as a homemaker, she worked in several restaurants and delivered Meals-on-Wheels to those in need, bringing a smile and laughter to whomever she met. You could count on her for a good joke or story, and she did not disappoint!
Peggy spent time daily in devotion, reading her Bible, and sharing her love of our Lord with everyone she knew. Her children are her greatest achievement, and she loved her children, her family and her friends unconditionally.
She is survived by her children: Nicki Norman, Woodbridge, MD, Christine Clay, Beaverton, OR, Dale (Lauri) Norman, Hillsboro, OR, Dan (Beth) Norman, Scappoose, OR, Don Norman, North Plains, OR, David (Teresa) Norman, Hillsboro, OR, Douglas (Samantha) Norman, Hillsboro, OR; Grandchildren: Matthew Taylor, Stephanie (Darren) Shimp-Taylor, Amber (Isaac) Rogers, Sara Landolt, Matthew (Morgan) Norman, Jacob Norman, Colby Norman, Gregory Norman, Bradley Norman, Rian Norman, Emily Norman, and five great-grandchildren, nieces and friends. Predeceased by her parents, son Dick Clark Norman in 1971 and brother Richard Pounds in 2010.
