Marilyn D. Axt, age 61, passed away in her home in Tigard, Oregon surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 5, 2015. She was born on September 26, 1953 in San Francisco, California to Rufus and Patricia Goodwin. Marilyn was a 1972 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Menlo Park, California, and went on to complete her Master's Degree in Business Administration at Portland State University. She married Ken Axt on April 15, 1989, in Portland, Oregon. Marilyn's father and grandfather were doctors and she followed in the public health tradition; she worked for Oregon Health Science University, as a Business Analyst, in the information technology department. Marilyn was truly radiant in her love for life and the passionate way she lived. She especially loved the Oregon Coast and spent as much time there with her family and friends as she could. Marilyn loved people deeply and had an uncanny knack of letting them know that; she was loved dearly by everyone that crossed her path in life. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ken; her daughter Corey, her son Nathan; her brother Robert Goodwin; her sister Susan Schweer; and many other extended family members.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Marilyn touched are invited to a Celebration of Life which will be announced over the next few weeks. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a remembrance donation be made in Marilyn's honor to help fund research toward a cure for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at: CurePSP
