Martha E. Powell

Martha E. Powell age 94 of Hillsboro died in a Hillsboro Sept. 3, 2010. Born Dec. 7, 1915 in Emporia, Kansas to Frank & Alta (Marks) Hollingsworth Came to Oregon in 1963 and to Hillsboro in 1979. Graduated High School in Emporia, Kansas. Married Manard Powell Sept. 29, 1938 in Hollywood, CA. He preceded her in death in Nov. 1993. She had worked as a beautician for 5 years in the mid 1930's in Emporia, Kansas and was a homemaker the rest of her life. Member of Singing Hills Christian Church in Hillsboro. She had taught Sunday School and Bible Study classes. She was an accomplished seamstress also doing crochet and knitting. Martha had a green thumb and enjoyed flower gardening.
