On Friday December 13, 2019 heaven gained another angel. Mary Katherine Crandall (Roub) went to dance with her husband again.
Born December 2, 1929 the third child of Robert and Lillian Roub in Grand Coulee, Washington. Mary remembered the days on the family's homestead hauling water, feeding the animals, helping her mother in the kitchen and helping to raise her other siblings. School was always a long trek usually through snow once the family moved to Dixie Mountain in Oregon.
Mary left home at a young age, moving to Hillsboro with her sister Dorothy and working at the Soda Shoppe where she met the man who would mean everything to her, Howard Crandall. The couple was wed June 5, 1948. Raising a family and providing for her husband was the lifeblood of Mary's life. Married for almost 68 years only the loss of her husband could come between them. While surviving for almost 4 years, Mary passed peacefully shortly after her 90th birthday. She leaves a long legacy being survived by her brother Conrad Roub and his wife Garalynn, her children Allan and wife Linda, Sally (Margiotta)and husband Ron, David and his wife Christi, John and wife Carrie and Doug and wife Jeanne, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mary's strength and inspiration will live on with us forever.
