Mary Saker Frostick was born on March 23,1924 in Yonkers, New York to Ernest Saker and Catherine (Murchie) Saker. She passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the age of 95. Mary met her future husband, William, who had just returned from serving in WWII at St John's Episcopal Church in Yonkers. Mary sang in the choir, and caught William's eye. They were later married in that same church on New Year's Day 1949. Mary and Wiliam raised their family in Katonah, New York. She worked as the parish secretary for St Mark's Episcopal Church for many years in Mt Kisco, New York. Mary loved to garden, sew, and read.It was the love of family and the dream to reconnect with loved ones that moved the Frostick Family from Katonah, New York to Coos Bay, Oregon in 1975. They built their own home right next door to William's brother, George. Their life in Coos Bay was embraced with wonderful friends, and a homestead they adored. She worked as the office manager in a dental practice, and volunteered her time wheeling residents to and from Wednesday services at St. Catherine's Nursing Home. But then once again, it was the love of family, the draw of grandchildren and the prosoect of great grandchildren that moved them to Hillsboro in 2003.Once settled in their home, Mary joined the Hillsboro Aquatics Center and Facebook! She looked forward to aqua areobics three times a week to excersize with her "pool pals!" She cherished the friendships that grew with the ladies and gentlemen she met there. Mary once said of FACEBOOK ..." I must be the oldest 'facebooker' on line!" She loved to cook, bake bread and to try new recipes shared, seeing photos, and staying connected to the many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and family only separated by miles. Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 71 years, William Frostick of Hillsboro, Oregon; and her three children, son, William of Bellevue, Washington; son Harry, of Fairfield, Connecticut; and daughter, Mary Gregg of Hillsboro. She was the beloved grandmother to Allison Walberg, Thomas and Bradley Gregg; Harry, Mary And William Frostick. She was also blessed with six "Great Grands"; Jordan and Owen Walberg, Makena and Thomas Gregg, and Harry and Ahyva Frostick. A memorial service will be held at St. Gabriel Episcopal Church, Portland, OR on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1 p.m.
