MELVA W. (DIETER) GRAHAM FEB. 27, 1924 - FEB. 25, 2011
Melva was born at her grandmother's homestead in Mt. Well Utah and grew up during the depression living in tent-houses and progressing to a small log cabin with her seven siblings. It was these early years that shaped Melva's life time habits of grit, creativity and making do. She moved with her family to Portland, Oregon during WWII and worked in the shipyards. There she met and married Merle Graham in 1944. They had three children. She was a homemaker enjoying her grandchildren, square dancing, sketching, sewing and quilt making.
Melva is survived by her sister Mae Jepson, her children Michael Graham, Patricia Gunnels and Eugene Graham. Her grandchildren Tracy Williams, Nicholas and Colin Graham. Her great grandchildren Thaddeus and Samantha Dronan and Hayden, Kaelyn and Lindsey Graham.
It is our prayer that she rest in peace without pain. She will be missed so very much by her family.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, with a date to be announced later.
