Our beloved mother, Nou Vang, 72 years old of Vancouver, WA was born in Ph Laas, Laos on February 12, 1950. Her father was Ntshab Lwm Vang and her mother was Yee Her. Nou is the youngest of 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Nou was promised to wed La Xou Her at the age of 16. They were married in 1966 in Pha Laas, Laos. Together they had 9 children, Chuck Ncaiv Vang, Ka (Nam Txawj Cai Muas), Ying, Vixay, Linda (Nam Tsaav Tsheej Muas), Phong, Ntxoov Brank, Gollia (Nam Tswv Mos Yaaj), and Ger. They were both blessed with 40 grandchildren and 4 great-granchildren. On August 15, 1979 Nou and La Xou migrated to the United States and called Salem, Oregon home. They dreamt of a future in the land of the free. They then decided to relocate their family to Fresno, California in 1981.
Nou dedicated her life to Christ on April 11, 2004. Nou became a United States citizen in 2009. Her wish was to travel the world and back to see her family and homeland. Nou was very adventurous. She loved fishing and being in the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and most of all loved her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who did her best to provide for her family with the lack of education and English. She was loved by many because of her generous heart, giving hands and her cooking.
On October 26, 2022, Nou was rushed to the hospital because of trouble breathing and chest pain. That was then when the doctors discovered she had suffered a heart attack. One of her arteries was 100% blocked. The doctors asked to see if the family would like to give her medication or perform surgery. The family decided at that second to go forth with surgery. The doctors were able to perform surgery to clear the artery and put in 2 stents. She was doing well and got discharged on October 29, 2022. Her family was glad and relieved to have her home. Sadly, November 1, 2022, God had called her home. She leaves behind 5 sons and daughter in-laws, 4 daughters and son in-laws. She leaves behind 40 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, the church, and her friends. You will forever be in our hearts mom/grandma.
