Oma Jean Swartwood died at the age of 84 on April 9th, 2018 at Hawthorne House Care Center in Forest Grove. She was born on April 15th, 1933 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Daughter of Alvie M. and Jessie M. Hayes, her parents moved to Oregon when she and her sister, Betty Bronson and brother, Dee Voyed Hayes were young. Oma Jean married Dayton Eugene Swartwood in 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They live in Hillsboro and later settled in
Cornelius in 1962 until Dayton's passing in 2016.
She was a homemaker. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts and reading her bible.
Her parents Alvie and Jessie Hayes and brother, Voyed preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter, Linda and Tim Gatton of Yamhill, Oregon. Son, Donald and Virginia Swartwood of Banks, Oregon. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sandy, Lisa, Teresa, Kenneth and Jordan and fifteen great-grandchildren and her sister Betty Bronson.
