Cornelius, Oregon resident Ms. Phyllis Jean Birchard, 86, passed away Friday, October 17, 2023, at the Tuality Healthcare Medical Center in Hillsboro, OR.
Phyllis was born July 9, 1937, to Thomas Henry & Gladys Marie (Koppin) Birchard in Grinnell, Iowa. The family moved to Oregon in 1943 and she graduated from Hillsboro High School. Phyllis had lived in Chiloquin in the early 1970’s before moving back to the Beaverton area. In 1999 she moved to Cornelius, Oregon. She worked at Tektronix for 36 years until retiring in 1995. Phyllis was a Christian and had volunteered with the American Red Cross and Store to Door organizations. She enjoyed camping with her family, wood carving, gold panning, gardening, dahlias, and planting peas.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her partner, Melissa of Cornelius, OR; sister, Donna Kistler of Newberg, OR; sister and brother in-law, Linda & Rob Liebenow of Wilsonville, OR; and multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Food Bank or the Red Cross.
