Richard Miller was born in Hillsboro, OR, to Jim and Pearl Miller. While attending HilHi he was a star baseball and basketball player, and also very active in speech and debate. During his election for student body president, Richard said to the class "my speech today is like the horns of a steer, a point here, a point there, and a lot of bull in-between."
He graduated from Lynfield College and also attended PSU. Richard went on to work as a CPA. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was also a devoted son who lived next door to his mother and dad later in life and cared for them until their death.
Richard was very involved at the Hillsboro Senior Center and started their Wednesday Night Bingo. He also enjoyed fishing, clam digging, golfing, and gardening. He believed doing for others was what brought joy and happiness.
Survivors include his daughters Heidi and Amy Miller of Hillsboro, OR; grandchildren Tyler and Leah of Hillsboro, OR; his brother and sister-in-law Doug and Sandy Miller of Sana Barbara, CA.
