Richard Smith age 85 of Beaverton died at home Aug. 19, 2011 Born Apr. 9, 1926 in Winfield, Kansas. Hillsboro area resident for 80 years. Married Janet Devlaeminck May 6, 1972. He was a farmer, truck driver and worked mainly in forestry maintaining trails. Member of Washington Co. Westerners Horse Club, Oregon Equestrian Trails, Shenandoah Riders 4H Club.
Survivors are, wife Janet Smith, brother Wayne Smith, sister Lois Meek, sister Aileen Coleman, sister Eleanor Morehouse, and sister Betty Tidwell.
A Memorial service will be held Friday Aug. 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hillsboro.
Private Cremation has been held.
