Robert Leon Evens

Bob was born in Vernonia, Oregon on June 24, 1940, to Clyde & Laura Evens. Bob grew up in the Forest Grove area committing various mischievous adventures and Graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1958. After high school he joined the Navy and later the Marines. After the military he met the love of his life, Ms. Kathleen Hines. They were married on January 12th, 1963. They moved to the Hillsboro area where they raised their three children.

Bob worked at Freightliner for many years, designing truck parts that are still in use today. He also worked for years designing a cherry harvester, a strawberry harvester, and other mechanical pursuits. After Kathy's passing in 2004, he did some traveling and enjoyed showing his pictures and sharing his adventures with others. Bob had a very generous heart and enjoyed serving others and for many of his later years, he delivered Meals on Wheels in the Forest Grove area.

He is survived by his two sisters; Bertie Hoilien and Alberta Peterson, Three children: Tim Evens, Robin & Chris Woodford, Jerry & Erica Evens, Seven grandchildren: Stephanie & Brian Scott, Stacie &Andrew Sobiesczyk, Amanda & Nick Copeland, Amber Woodford, Adam Woodford, Whitney Evens & Tyler Evens, Five great grandchildren: Brennam Scott, Bella Scott, Aria Copeland, Brooke Copeland, Alexander Sobiesczyk.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Donelson Funeral Chapel in Hillsboro, Oregon. Graveside services were held with United States Marine Corps military honors and he was laid to rest with his wife, Kathleen at the Fir Lawn Memorial Park in Hillsboro, Oregon.
