Philpott, Robert A. 92 Feb. 13, 1920 April 20, 2012 Bob passed away peacefully April 20, 2012 at his home in North Plains. He was born Feb. 13, 1920 in Portland, to Albert and Mary Philpott. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at the North Plains Senior Plaza, 31485 NW Kaybern St., North Plains, OR 97133. Private inurnment has been held at Willamette National Cemetery.
Bob lived most of his live in the North Plains area. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during battle in Northern France. He was also the recipient the Bronze Star Medal. He was a longtime employee of the Portland VA Medical Center.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and his niece, Sharon James. He is survived by two nieces, Sandra Matthews and Kathy Sunseri; two great-nieces, Stephanie La Haie Jensen and Nicole La Haie; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.
