Robert A. Weaver age 89 of Hillsboro died March 19, 2011 in a Hillsboro nursing home.
Robert was born April. 4, 1921 in Plainview, Texas to Clyde B. and Edith (Smart) Weaver
He was a Hillsboro resident since age 14. The family lived on a farm on Chehalem Mt. raising walnuts and strawberries. Robert bought his own farm in 1950 on Chehalem Mt. raising strawberries and black caps (black raspberries). Married to Vivian Griffin July 20, 1955 in Portland, OR. She preceded him in death in Aug. 1991.
He was a warehouse supervisor for Pacific Metal in Portland for 30 years retiring in 1983 to work full time on his farm.
Survivors are 5 daughters Jean Rouse Mt. Angel, OR, Patricia Ornduff Vancouver, WA, Shirley Soper Banks, OR, Jane Blanton Hillsboro, OR, Judy Schoen Simi Valley, CA, and 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren 13 great great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by a son Ray Weaver who died in a tractor accident in 1962 and by his brothers Otho Weaver who died Jan. 18, 1999 and Lewis Ola Weaver who died June 22, 2004.
A funeral service will be held Saturday March 26, 2011 at 1:00 P. M., at Donelson-Fir Lawn Memorial Center Chapel in Hillsboro. Viewing will take place at the funeral home Friday 2:00 P.M until 5:00 P.M and on Saturday starting at 11:00 A.M Interment Fir Lawn Memorial Park in Hillsboro.
