Rosemary Hunter passed away February 28, 2011, at a Hillsboro hospital.
She was born September 25, 1930, in Brookport, Illinois, to John and Lottie Martin.
A celebration of her life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, 172 NE 32nd Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97124.
In 1948 Rosemary graduated from Edwardsville High School located in Edwardsville, IL. She then graduated from the Memphis Baptist Hospital School of Nursing on September 13, 1951. She married Dwight Willis Hunter on October 10, 1951. After living in California for many years, they moved to Oregon in 1967. Upon her arrival in Oregon she became a member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. She worked activily as a registered nurse including Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro and Tuality Forest Grove Hospital as well as teaching CNA certification clasess. She retired in 1992. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and painting, and was most recently a resident of Cornell Estates in Hillsboro.
Rosemary is survived by her son Brent Hunter of Cornelius, her daughter Cherie Hunter, also of Cornelius; 2 sisters, Pat Goebels of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Jean Jacobs of Hillsboro; 2 grandsons, Tyson Scott Vanover of Beaverton and Devin Erik Hunter of Hillsboro.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Richmond Vision Fund through Hillsboro Presbyterian Chruch or her family.
