Roy and Louise Hofer, ages 98 and 93, married for 67 years, passed away on November 18 and August 13. They were lifelong residents of Washington County. Roy was co-owner of Hillsboro implement Co., a John Deere and Caterpillar dealership. His passion in life was farm machinery of any kind and he pursued this until just a few days before his death.
Louise worked for Meier and Frank for 50 years. She worked in the payroll department and was the consummate Meier & Franker during the store's golden years. Louise was killed by an automobile in August and Roy died of a broken heart in November.
A meeting will be held at the West Union School cafeteria on Saturday, Dec 3 at 12 noon to remember Roy and Louise.
