Ruth Frances Langue, 99 of Hillsboro died November 19, 2011 at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro OR.
Viewing will take place Saturday November 26, 2011 from 10:00 am. to 2:00 pm at Donelson~Fir Lawn Memorial Center, 1070 W. Main St. in Hillsboro.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Orenco Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Mark Rainey officiating.
Private Family Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon on Monday, November 28, 2011.
Ruth was born October 4, 1912 in Corvallis, Oregon to George and Beulah Rose Goodman. She was raised and educated in the Orenco community on the family homestead. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1930.
Ruth was united in marriage to Fred Hamel on August 12, 1932. They celebrated thirty-five years of life together and raised two children before he preceded her in death. She married Jules Langue on August 30, 1969 and he preceded her in death.
Over the years Ruth worked at the BirdsEye Cannery as a floor supervisor. She was an active member of the Orenco Presbyterian Church for almost eighty-five years. She was a member of the Bell Ringer Choir for many years and encouraged her family to participate.
Among her personal interests she loved fishing. She enjoyd bowling, crocheting, and knitting. She loved having a garden and planting flowers. Most recently Ruth played cards, played Bingo, Scrabble and worked a mean crossword puzzle. She was always up for a challenge on any word she came up with, having her dictionary close. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dwight, four sisters; Camille, Clara, Grace, and Kathryn.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Beverly and Dale Ballou, son and daughter in law, Fred and Debbie Hamel, all of Seaside, Oregon. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. Please continue to check back for photos and tributes.
