MEMORIAL FOR
SANDEE CHARBONNEAU
MAY 8TH, 1944 - SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2016
Sandra Jean Charbonneau, was born the first child to George and Chloa Underwood, of Aloha, Oregon on May 8, 1944, followed by sister, Susan Kangas, and brother, Dave Underwood. She lived and worked locally in Aloha, and was part of the first graduating class from Sunset High School in 1962. Sandee met her husband of 44 years, Guy Everett Charbonneau, after admiring his 1960 Chevy Impala that was adorned with 10 tail lights. Guy and Sandee enjoyed drag racing their 1964 El Camino at Woodburn Drag Strip and many trips with family and friends to the Oregon Coast to run their Willy's Jeep through the sand dunes. They were married on May 11th, 1963 and managed River Road Mobile Estates in Hillsboro, until moving to Santa Monica, California in 1975.
Guy and Sandee, had a son named Bradley George, who passed away at birth in December 8, 1973. Their first daughter, Angela Michelle was born on January 20, 1976 in Los Angeles, California. They soon moved to their home of almost 30 years in Corona, California and welcomed their second daughter, Amy Christine on June 24, 1977.
In 1979, Guy and Sandee started a family business called American Medical X-Ray Products, where Sandee managed the business office until she retired in 2007. They worked hard for many years, but made a happy and comfortable life together. She was an amazing mother that supported her daughters in everything from Girl Scouts to Sports. Her loving husband, Guy, unfortunately passed suddenly on March 27, 2007 before they were able to move back to Oregon to enjoy their retirement. It was their wish to be closer to family and return to the area they grew up in, to spend time with their daughters and 3 wonderful grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon and Trevor Schubmehl.
Sandee moved to the West Hills of Portland in 2007 where she lived until 2010, then settled back into the Hillsboro area where she resided until her death at home. She loved spending time with her family and friends, hosting gatherings, and supporting her grandsons in school and sports.
In November of 2015, she began having health changes and was later diagnosed in June of 2016 with an aggressive cancerous tumor in her leg. With the severity and type of cancer she was facing, treatment options were very limited and she was soon placed on Hospice services in her home. Her loving family and friends stayed diligently by her side for several months during her graceful battle. Sandee passed away at home on September 21, 2016 with family by her side. She will be greatly missed, but always loved and remembered and is finally home in the loving arms of her husband Guy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to The American Cancer Society. A dogwood tree will be planted at Fir Lawn Memorial Park in honor of Guy and Sandee Charbonneau.
