The passing of Sandra MacElroy, who recently turned 83, left her family with a hole in their hearts, yet we were grateful to know her and be loved by her. She was a strong woman who loved her Lord and her family. We will miss her, and we'll see her again in heaven!
She was raised in Illinois and Arizona, and was the second oldest of John & Mildred's four children. After high school graduation, she married her first husband Vernon and they had two children. In later years, she married John and they enjoyed traveling and camping together.
Sandra worked at Titleist in Arizona as an Sr. Executive Administrator until she retired. She enjoyed reading her Bible and mysteries, taking trips to the country or the beach, garage sales, antique stores, or going anywhere. Before her second stroke, if you said “let's go for a ride”, she was up in a second saying, “Let's go!”. After she retired, she became part of a quilting group and found she had a knack for putting beautiful colors & patterns together. When her husband John passed away, she decided to move to Oregon.
Sandra is survived by her children Virginia (Glenn) & John (Teresa); six grand-children Sandi (Brian), Jen (Daren), Danny, Diana, Nick, Harrison; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Betty Sue & Deborah, along with nieces, nephews & cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Laurel Community Church in Hillsboro, Oregon on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 10:00am PST.
A second memorial service will occur in Arizona around the fall of 2020 for her Arizona family and friends – the date will be announced later.
