Sgt Sean James-Ross Mcintosh

SEAN JAMES-ROSS McINTOSH

Sean James-Ross McIntosh, a resident of Vancouver, Washington, died on September 15th, 2017 in Vancouver. He was 31 years of age.

Sean was born on February 23, 1986 in Fountain Valley, California and was the son of James and Susan (Ross) McIntosh, and the brother of Jennifer (McIntosh) Brown. At age 3, he moved to Vancouver, Washington with his beloved family where he attended Skyview High School.

He enlisted in the Oregon Army National Guard with HHB, 2-218th Field Artillery as a Human Resources Specialist in 2009 and then deployed with A Company 3-116 CAV in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2011 he deployed with HQ 3-116 CAV in support of Operation New Dawn. In 2012 SGT McIntosh transferred to A/2-218 FA and was trained as a Cannon Crewmember. In 2014 he was transferred to C Company 2-162 IN where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon his return to A Battery 2-218 FA he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

SGT McIntosh also performed in several different duties to include the Recruiting and Retention Battalion's Mobile Event Team and a member of the Oregon Military Funeral Honors team at Willamette National cemetery.

His awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Campaign stars, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with 'M' device, and the Army Service Ribbon.

Sean also worked for Garda as an Armored Truck Driver and also for Heritage Enterprises, a local granite company. Sean had a passion for helping people and doing the right thing. Sean was intelligent, sarcastic, and loving. He could always make someone smile, and would always bring a battle of the wits to any conversation.

His family was his life and he more than adored his two children they were his passion. From watching Tessa dance at his sister's wedding, to playing soccer, and softball, to watching Graham grow up into a young little man who looks just like him and who would follow him anywhere he went. Sean loved every second of his children's lives. He also enjoyed motorcycles; in fact he enjoyed them so much he gave his father one so they could ride together. Sean also enjoyed shooting at the local range, he even took his mother once and they had shared an amazing day. Sean was an excellent cook, from creating his own recipes to mimicking the pros in the culinary world he was spot on with his flavors. Sean was patient, kind and loved by so many. He will be dearly missed, and never forgotten.

Sean is survived by his daughter, Tessa Bean of Ridgefield, WA, son, Graham McIntosh of Vancouver, his wife, Kodi of Vancouver, parents, Jim and Susan McIntosh of Vancouver and his sister, Jennifer Brown of Woodland along with many friends and his many Brothers and Sisters in Arms who were honored to serve with him.
