Stanley Bos, 84, of Hillsboro passed on April 20th after developing pulmonary embolisms.
He was born in Fresno, California to Dirk and Rose Bos, and was raised there with his siblings; Dirk; Andrew; William and Gertrude.
Stan served in the Marines during the Korean War. Sometime after his military service he met and married the love of his life, Ethel, on September 14th 1956, and together they raised 4 children. He was a loving husband, father and was adored by his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His nephews and nieces loved their Uncle Stan, everyone who knew Stan as a loving, helpful and giving person.
Stan loved camping, golfing, hunting, target shooting and sports, especially NFL football. He also enjoyed baseball and coached little league baseball for a time. He truly loved watching just about any sport. He also enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful rose garden.
Stan worked as a Steamfitter of UA Local 290, where he was a member for 45 years. He also spent time working on and managing oil skids bound for Alaska. He retired in1997 and spent his time remodeling his home, gardening and helping out his friends and family. He was a member of the American Legion, Aloha Post 104 for several years.
Survivors include his wife Ethel; children Vicki Dodge of Beaverton; Stanley Bos Jr of Gaston; Pamela Edgerton of Aloha; and Sharon Pereda of Aloha; and 9 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 27, 2019, at 11a.m. at Donelson Funeral Chapel in Hillsboro. Following the service there will be a gathering at the American Legion, Aloha Post 104.
