Stella Lavina Pulliam Wirick, born August 31, 1912 to Alice & William Pulliam in El Dorado, Oklahoma, died in her sleep January 11, 2013 at her residence, Wynwood Care Center, Hillsboro, Oregon. Greatly respected, she leaves a heritage of giving and service, constant prayers, trust and belief in her Loving God. Stella worked as a chef in New Mexico, Arizona, Bend, Salem and Portland, Oregon.
She married Arthur A. Wirick, lovingly known as "Boppie" on July 27, 1967. Sharing their love for fiddle music, gardening and travel, their retirement was split between Boring, Oregon, Goldendale, Washington and Black Canyon City, Arizona. Stella loved to collect dolls, crochet and was an avid "Rock Hound".
August of 2012, she celebrated her 100th birthday at a favorite event, a picnic. She was the 6th of 7 children all who have preceded her in death.
Stella is survived by 4 children, Deward Delbert (George), Bobby Lois (Barbara), Kenneth Gene & Larry Keith, 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. Interment will be at Crescent Grove Cemetery & Mausoleum, Washington County. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
