Sylvia June Ranf

April 6, 1927 — January 23, 2020

Sylvia “June” Ranf was born to William F. and Ludie E. Conner on April 6, 1927 in Levelland, Texas.  Her family moved to California when she was a child.  As a young adult, June moved to Sparks, Nevada where she met and married Vernon L. Ranf in November 1953.  They moved first to California, then to Hillsboro, Oregon in 1965.  Together they raised six children.

June had a deep love for family and her focus was providing them with love and support.  After her youngest children had started school, June enjoyed her career selling real estate in the Hillsboro area for many years.  June loved meeting new people and considered many “family” rather than just friends.  Her friends were usually life-long and second only to her husband, children, grand-children, and great grand-children to whom she gave her life.  June enjoyed writing stories and published a book of her life stories in 2012.  She also enjoyed camping, reading and traveling.

June is survived by: her sister, Betty Conner; brother, Kenneth Neil Conner (Ruth), brother-in-law, Keith Ranf (Gail), two sons, Richard J. Ranf (Kathleen) and Michael S. Ranf (Barbara), three daughters, Debbie V. VanDolah (John), Tracie A. Fonder (Kevin), and Robin D. Huber (David), 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ludie, her brother, Bill, her loving husband, Vern, daughter, Donna, and grand-daughter, Carrie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornell Estates in Hillsboro on February 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on June’s behalf to Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge, 6902 SE Lake Road, Suite 300, Milwaukie, Oregon 97267.
