Terry O. Farness age 70 of Columbia City died at home Aug. 28.
He was born Feb 28, 1943 in Portland, OR. Terry was raised in the West Union area and graduated from Hillsboro High School.
On Oct. 27, 1972 he married Rose Devlin in Tigard, OR. They had resided for the last fourteen years in Columbia City. Terry was a truck driver for most of his working life and had been a school bus driver for the last three years. He was a huge NASCAR fan and had driven race cars at Portland Speedway and River City Speedway in St. Helens from 1974 - 1990. Terry was an official at both tracks for fifteen years. Terry was a US Army vet serving in VietNam.
Survivors are his wife Rose Farness; daughter Donna Evenhus (partner Curt Nusom); sons Terry Farness (wife Traci), Eddie Farness (wife Susie) and Hal Farness; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral service 11:00 A. M. Wed. Sept. 4 at Donelson-Fir Lawn Memorial Center, 1070 W. Main in Hillsboro. Interment at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro. Viewing at the funeral home 3:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. on Tuesday.
