Thelma Belle Meier

June 5, 1921 — October 12, 2015

Thelma Belle Meier was called home by her Savior on October 12th, 2015 in Hillsboro, Oregon. She was born on June 5th 1921 in Hanover, Kansas to Mamie and George Cummings, one of five children. She spent most of her childhood in Moroville, Kansas before migrating to Oregon with her family. She met her husband Irvin in Weston, Oregon and was married to him in Lewiston, Idaho on June 8th 1940. She and Irvin settled in Weston. In retirement they traveled around the country with most frequent trips to Pacific City, Oregon. They fell in love with Pacific City and lived there as full-time motor homers for a number of years before moving to Hillsboro in 2006. Thelma loved children and was known to dozens in Weston as Auntie Thelma. She gave great hugs and would pass them out to anyone, even strangers, that needed one. She touched the lives of countless people and was the bright spot in the day for many of those she encountered. Thelma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Thelma is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her siblings Alvin, Glen, Ervin (Sherb), and Eileen. She is survived by her husband Irvin, son Gary (Darla) Meier of Duluth, Minnesota, daughter Sheri (Randy) Rahn of Hillsboro, Oregon, and grandchildren Fawn and Thaddeus Rahn
