Timothy "Tim" Charles Marsh Sr., born Oct. 21, 1947, in Eureka, Calif., passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2014, in Hillsboro, with his wife of 46 years, Sharyln "Shari" Marsh, at his side.
After 53 years of living in Eureka, Tim and Shari moved to Hillsboro, where Tim worked for Kadel's Auto Body for five years before he had a double lung transplant and enjoyed his retirement.
Tim had a love of cars. He grew up racing quarter midgets and as an adult, he raced sprint cars. He is a lifetime member of the Portland Quarter Midget Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellery and Lillian Marsh; and brother, Ellery Marsh Jr. Tim is survived by his wife, Shari Marsh; daughter and son-in-law, Tawnya and Keith Bacchetti; son and daughter-in-law, Tim Jr. and Gina Marsh; grandchildren, Kristen Kasper, Kaleb Bacchetti and Dylan and Lynsey Marsh; great-grandsons, Braydon and Brody Kasper; sisters, Mim McGregor and Carol Huber; brother, LeRoy Marsh Sr.; many nieces and nephews; racing family; and car club families.
The family would like to thank Tim's transplant team at Stanford and his doctors at Kaiser and Hospice for all their care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Donate Life or Make a Wish Foundation.
There will be a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Tim's home. 1341 N.E. Arrowwood St., Hillsboro, OR 97124. This is a simple celebration at Tim's request so come in your jeans and share a story.
