William Joseph Ballou

William (Bill/Papa) Ballou passed away on November 8, 2020 in Hillsboro, Oregon at the age of 94. Bill was born in Bellingham, Washington to his parents James and Doris Ballou on February 11, 1926. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946. In 1950 he married Elice Metzenberg. They had a son, Dale Ballou and a step-daughter, Glee Lake. They moved to Hillsboro in 1960. Elice passed away in November, 1978. In 1982, Bill married Margaret Boggs. Margaret had a daughter, Susan. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother James, his younger brothers Donald and Clint, Elice, Margaret and Glee. Bill worked for Armco in Hillsboro for many years before retiring. Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Beverly Ballou, his step-daughter, Susan Grossen, several nieces and nephews and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Bill will be laid to rest at the Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon.
