Yvonne Marie Brophy

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, Yvonne Brophy, loving wife, mother of two children and grandmother of three, passed away at the age of 68.
Yvonne was born on June 11, 1951 in Eureka, CA to Gerald (Dick) and LaDonna Atwell. Yvonne Graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1969 and later earned her Associates degree from the College of the Redwoods and Santa Rosa Junior College. On July 7, 1973, she married Michael (Mike/Mickey) Brophy. They raised a son, Brendan, and a daughter, Brianne.
More than anything, Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether at family gatherings, vacations, or at home, she cherished the time she had with those closest to her, both immediate and extended. For Yvonne, family included all those she met through the years, traveling and living in so many different places throughout the country. Every place she visited, she made new friends feel like family. Yvonne also had a passion for spending time outside, whether it was camping, visiting the national parks, or just working in the back yard. Some of the best memories of her are near lakes, rivers, forests, or fairgrounds and backyards with the dogs.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Gerald. She is survived by her husband Mike, her two children, Brendan and Brianne, her grandchildren Owen, Grady and Ryan, her mother LaDonna, her sisters Linda and Bonita, her brothers Greg and Patrick, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, a memorial will be held later this year as conditions allow.
